31-Day Challenge Post #3: Tree Clean-up

With a new inventory of sharp chains for his trusty Stihl, Scott was excited to spend another calm, cool Saturday outside. He took down two dead trees and did clean-up of some lower branches.
The new chain didn't give him any trouble (compared to last week.)
Notching the pine would help it fall the right direction (or would it?)
Nope! That's the complete opposite of what was expected! Good thing the neighbor's fence broke its fall.
My job was to put all of the branches in piles, and then drag the piles to the fire pit.
The poor spruce tree north of the house was the next target. Scott shimmied up the trunk to fasten a rope so the Ranger could help pull it down in the right direction. It was important that the tree not fall on the propane tank or transformer.
I was trusted to back the Ranger up to add tension to the rope. At Scott's signal, I put it in reverse and helped pull the tree down.
 Success!
We still have a big brush pile leftover from last summer (you can see it in the background) so everything we processed today ended up in the fire pit.
