31-Day Challenge Post #11: Northwest Passage

After mowing the majority of the yard this morning, Scott opted to run the mower around the trail on the west slope. He had the great idea of adding a loop off the western edge that extends the trail all the way to the northwest then back again into the main trail. Later, he took me on a tour, and we enjoyed visiting parts of our 10-acre wilderness never before seen (by me, anyway.)
The west trail head (aka top of the original trail.)
The original trail veers to the left; the new loop begins at the right.
The new loop was created by cutting through very tall grass. Scott mowed around the loop twice, in different directions. Additional mowing will be necessary to establish a clear path.
Visiting this area revealed several dead and/or broken trees that will need to be removed. Luckily, Lumberjack Days is coming soon!
